Ireland beat England by 5 runs through the Duckworth Lewis method

This ongoing t20 World Cup is giving us all the twists and turns. Once again rain played the role of a villain for England and gave Ireland a win through the DLS method on Wednesday, October 26.

England fell 5 runs short of the Irish total in terms of the D/L method which gave Ireland a stunning win over England in their cricket history. Restricting the Ireland team to a total of 157 runs in 19.2 overs after the firing start.

England chasing the score of 158 runs was on 105 for 5 in 14.3 overs. They were hardly seen getting any kind of momentum going on their way during the run chase. They kept losing their wickets on a regular basis. None of the England batsmen were seen comfortable playing the Irish bowling attack.
The Irish bowlers showed some brilliant skills with the new ball in hand, moving it in both ways in their second innings.

England was 29/3 at one stage. However, at one point it looked like Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone would save the day for them, then suddenly the rain interrupts and the match gets called off. England was short of the total by five runs. David Malan made 35 while Moen Ali remained unbeaten on 24.

Joshua Little picked up two wickets for 16 runs in 3 overs for Ireland.
Skipper Andy Balbirnie was Ireland's top scorer, scoring 62 in 47 balls along with Lorcan Tucker, who made 34 in 27 deliveries.
For England Liam Livingstone and Mark Wood, both shared six wickets each.
