West Indies team got badly trashed by the Ireland team

Hobart: By far one of the biggest upsets took place in the ICC t20 World Cup on Friday as the All round Two times champion West Indies team got badly trashed by the Ireland team.

Earlier the Windies lost their game against Scotland and now they lost to Ireland which has thrown them out of the t20 World Cup 2022.
After winning the toss West Indies opted to bat first. They scored 146 losing 5 wickets in 20 overs with Brandon King smashing 62runs off 48 balls along with Johnson Charles making 24 in 18 balls followed by the all-rounder Odean Smith scoring quick 19 runs in 12 balls.
The Irish bowler Simi Singh and Barry McCarthy put their team an advantage by removing both the openers in the powerplay.
They restricted the Windies to a comfortable total of 146 runs.
While coming down to chase the experienced Irish veteran opener Paul Stirling slammed an unbeaten 66. Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie scored 37 off 23 balls before he was dismissed by the left-arm spinner, Akeal Hosein. After then Lorcan Tucker joined Paul Stirling in the middle to finish the chase for Ireland in style with a huge six as he too remained unbeaten at 45 off 35 balls. Team Ireland had chased down the target in just 17.3 with 9 wickets remaining. With this big win, Ireland goes through the Super 12 stage. They will join Group 2 in the Super 12 stage with India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh.
Gareth Delany wins the Player of the Match for his terrific spell of 3/16 in 4 Overs.
