Australia wins over by 7 wickets against the Asia Cup winners with 21 balls remaining.

The hosts take on The Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka in Perth today. After suffering a humiliating 89-run defeat against the Kiwis the hosts today takes on the Lankans lions. The Sri Lankan pacers have supported their spinners so well throughout their campaign which gave high confidence to their team in producing some good results. Though their batting was not that good when they suffered a shocking loss to Namibia in their opening match of the tournament after then they backed themselves very soon and delivered some excellent all-round performances to qualify for the Super12 stage.

It is a must-win game for them. The Lankan opener Kushal Mendis got out early by Pat Cummins for 5 runs. Australia manages to keep the Srilankan batsman quiet without giving away too many runs in the power play. The pressure created by the Aussies forced the Lankan batters to play some big shots from which they got out. Somehow they managed to put a total of 157 runs on the board losing 6 wickets.
Pathum Nissanka (40) and Charith Asalanka's unbeaten 38 runs gave Srilanka a fighting total to defend.


Chasing a tricky target of 158 runs, The Kangaroos lost their first wicket during the 4th over of the match as David Warner departs scoring 11 runs in 10 balls. Skipper Aaron Finch and Mitchell Marsh try to put a stable partnership but Dhananjay de Silva's full loopy delivery outside the off gets Marsh out. After then Aussies' Big Gun Glenn Maxwell comes to the middle and joins Aron Finch. He scored some quick runs and unfortunately, he fell to Chamika Karunaratne. Maxwell's wicket gets the all-rounder Marcus Stoinis to the crease. Stoinis backs away and smashes the Lankan bowlers all over the park and brings his 50 in just 17 balls. At last, the captain hits the winning runs and gave victory over Srilanka by 7 wickets.

Hobart: By far one of the biggest upsets took place in the ICC t20 World Cup on Friday as the All round Two times champion West Indies team got badly trashed by the Ireland team. Earlier the Windies lost their game against Scotland and now they lost to Ireland which has thrown them out of the t20 World Cup 2022. After winning the toss West Indies opted to bat first.
