India beat the Netherlands by 56 runs
After beating Pakistan in a thrilling match on Sunday, October 23. India takes on the Netherlands today.
Winning the toss Indian skipper Rohit Sharma elected to bat against the Netherlands in their T20 World Cup match at the SCG.
India lost KL Rahul in the third over of the innings, then Kohli comes in and joins the skipper from the other side. Rohit anchored the innings from there and he scored a quick fifty. Joining the party Kohli scored his second consecutive half century of this tournament. He remained unbeaten on 62* of 44 balls with Surya Kumar Yadav.
Yadav ended the innings with a huge six off the last ball to get to his own half century.
Surya was seen smashing the Netherlands bowlers all over the park.
With the brilliant batting display India scored 179 losing 2 wickets. With the three top orders crucial knock India puts the Netherlands under a tough fight.
For the Orange Caps Fred Klaseen and Paul Van Meekeren took one wicket each.
The Netherlands starts their innings in a poor way by losing 2 important wickets in the powerplay.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar provides the early breakthrough for India. During the 12th over of the match Ravichandran Ashwin picked up two wickets.
They lost half of their side in just 63 runs. Without rotating the strike they tried to hit the big shots which got themselves to trouble. Chasing the target Netherlands never looked in control of their innings as India bowlers kept taking wickets at regular strikes. Lastly they lost the match by 56 runs.
Now India is on the top of the Group 2 Table ahead of South Africa.
