South Africa defeated India by five wickets

South Africa defeated India by five wickets in the Super 12 stage in Perth on Sunday, October 30.

Pakistan’s chances to reach the semi-final went in vain as India lost to South Africa in the super 12 stages.
Winning the toss skipper Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. They got off to a horrible start losing half of their side in just 49 runs in 8.3 overs. Their top orders went early without scoring many runs. The South African pacer Lungi Ngidi was the main wicket-taker who destroyed the Indian top-order taking 4 big wickets during an important spell of four overs bowling on a pacy track.
The Proteas dominated the game from the very beginning.
When India kept losing their wickets on a regular basis Suryakumar Yadav, stood alone at one side keeping his mind calm.
With a positive attitude and patience, he made 68 off 40 balls. He almost single-handedly got India to 133/9.
South Africa rattled early chasing the target. They lost the hero of the previous match Railee Rossouw and Quinton de- dock in the second over. Arshdeep Singh provided the early breakthrough for India in his first over. Indian pacers were seen giving nightmares to the Proteas with their swinging deliveries. They lost 3 quick wickets at 24 runs in 5.4 overs. After then a 76-run stand between Aiden Markram and David Miller helped them recover. Completing his half-century Aiden Markram fell soon but David Miller stayed there till the end to finish the game.
Some drop catches and missed runouts paid India very costly in the end. They lost the match by 5 wickets.
South Africa is now in an excellent position to seal a semi-final slot having 5 points in their bag, and keeping a healthy run rate of 2.772 with a game remaining their chances are high.
